On Memorial Day weekend, we will be joining thousands of other CrossFit boxes across America to do the Hero WOD known as “Murph”. This challenging workout, like all Hero WODs, is intended to honor those members of the armed forces who have sacrificed their lives in the service of our country, protecting our freedoms. As we participate in the Murph, we challenge ourselves to do something that we might have thought impossible, and we reflect on the gift we have in being here, in this country, that so many have died to defend. We’re thankful that we ARE here and that we GET TO do this brutal workout, as so many others cannot.

This workout is named for Lieutenant Michael P. Murphy, a Navy Seal, who was killed in action in Afghanistan June 28th, 2005, at the age of 29. To learn more about him and his bravery, read this article: http://www.navy.mil/ah_online/moh/murphy.html

Join us on Saturday May 26th for the Murph. We’ll be collecting donations for the Wounded Warrior Project (https://www.woundedwarriorproject.org). Non-members will pay a $10 “drop-in fee” that will be entirely donated to the Wounded Warrior Project. Stay afterwards for a fun potluck lunch/cookout.
